My Approach

At For the Love of Math Coaching, we use a student-centered approach that nurtures confidence, clarity, and a genuine connection to math. Every session is designed to meet your child where they are and support them in becoming a capable, curious, and resilient problem- solver.

Using a mix of formal and informal assessments, Karen observes how your child works through a problem, listening as they articulate their process. Math materials are tailored to your child’s developmental readiness to build on their strengths and gently support areas that need growth. As they become more confident, new strategies or multiple solution paths are explored. As their skills grow, so does their confidence. The goal is to have them take ownership of their learning, persist, through challenges, and feel proud of their progress.
